Thanks to the support of thousands of individuals and organizations, we are on our way to making high-quality preschool programs available to more California children and families. We need you to help keep that momentum going. Here are 6 easy steps you can take to get involved right away:
1. Advocate for high-quality early learning in the 2010 statewide elections As California’s 2010 statewide elections begin to build momentum, we must start now to ensure high-quality preschool is a campaign priority in the election this November, and for our next state leaders! Use our new web section to contact the gubernatorial and state superintendent of public instruction candidates, download early learning candidate questions and find upcoming candidate events.
2. Sign up for our email updates and action alerts In addition to receiving our monthly e-newsletter, Preschool Press, we'll keep you up to date on breaking news, make sure you are the first to hear about new studies and let you know how you can make a difference on this critical issue. See an archive of past issues of Preschool Press.
3. Get your preschool story published in a future edition of Preschool Press Use this simple survey to tell us why you believe preschool is important and we'll do the rest. Read this month's storytime feature.
4. Submit letters in support of preschool This is your chance to speak out in support of preschool and make your voice heard! Sign up to submit letters to your local newspapers and we'll help you get them published.
5. Tell-A-Friend Word of mouth is the most powerful way we will add supporters. Please take a moment to tell your friends and colleagues about the importance of preschool opportunity for California children.
6. Get involved locally Visit the Web site of your local First 5 and find out what's happening in your area and how you can get involved. Then tell us about your efforts.
