State finalizes pre-k budget
Lawmakers in Sacramento are working on a final budget for the state right now.  A significant accounting error in the 2007-08 May budget revision put a number of the governor’s proposed new investments, including $50 million for preschool program expansion, in jeopardy.  But the Assembly Budget Committee has approved $20 million in one-time funds to improve our statewide preschool infrastructure.
