Preschool Perspectives
2011 Budget Proposal

Preschool California is excited to see that the budget President Obama sent to Congress on Feb. 1 builds on the expansion to early learning programs made through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, including a proposed $8.2 billion for Head Start and Early Head Start. Across California, the stimulus funding has already created hundreds of new early childhood education spaces in Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms, and new jobs for teachers and staff. Here are just some examples:
