California and Congress
California, with the largest and most diverse delegation in Congress, plays a critical role in federal policymaking. The state is represented by two Senators and 53 representatives, many of whom serve on key committees or in leadership positions. Included in California’s delegation is the House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy and ranking Democratic member, George Miller, of the House Education and Workforce Committee.
