Federal Issues
Federal funding provides nearly two-thirds of the total financial support for early learning programs across the nation. Critical federal programs, including Head Start, Early Head Start and the Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG), serve more than 2,500,000 children from birth to age 5 in centers across the country. More than 425,000 children in California are served by Head Start, Early Head Start and CCDBG programs.
