The 2010 Early Learning Dual Language Learner Forum, hosted by Preschool California, featured experts in the fields of DLL research, best practices and policy. The forum was held on March 25, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the downtown Los Angeles Sheraton, in Los Angeles, CA.
The forum was intended to identify resources and research gaps relating to dual language learners. Expert panels included Dual Language Learner (DLL) Relevant Research Findings & Child Outcomes; Best Practices, Assessment & Curriculum; and Language Policies and Leadership in the State and Federal Landscape. Additionally, participants worked in groups to make recommendations for future policy and research relating to young children developing two or more languages in the areas of Workforce Development, Quality Rating & Improvement Systems, Curriculum, Assessment and more.
