Assemblymember Dave Jones visited with preschoolers at Hiram Johnson Family Education Center in Sacramento on October 12.  After reading to the kids, the assemblymember spoke at a briefing for ethnic media on the importance of pre-kindergarten.

"As a parent of two young children in the Sacramento City Unified School District, I have had the chance to visit kindergarten classrooms. I can tell who’s had kindergarten and is ready to learn. Those kids know how to hold a pencil, open a book. That’s why it’s critically important we make sure we have preschool available to all, especially those who need it most," Jones said.
