Senator Jeff Denham visited with preschoolers at Westside Head Start in Los Banos on Nov. 8. The Senator was joined by Los Banos Board of Education Member Andree Soares, Los Banos Unified School District Assistant Superintendent Charles Martin and Merced County Office of Education Assistant Superintendent Gaye Riggs. The tour participants discussed the newly released RAND research which reveals that the school readiness gap mirrors the achievement gap in later grades.
